Health Taster Day - Flinders University Darwin

Flinders University is inviting you to participate in an exclusive and exciting ‘Health Taster Day’ event!

This is a hands-on interactive event where you experience virtual dissection, compete in a first aid relay, and find hidden clues to solve health puzzles.

Who: Year 10-12 students
When: 3.00pm to 6.30pm, Thursday 24 September.
Where: Flinders University – Darwin, Casuarina Campus. CDU Yellow Building 4, Cnr University Drive North and University Drive West Casuarina, NT 0909
Why: To  give you close-up opportunities and hands-on experiences in different areas of Medicine, Paramedicine, Remote Health Practice and Public Health so that you can make the right decision regarding your future studies and career
What:
• Experience a virtual dissection and explore live specimen
• Learn basic first aid techniques and test them in a relay
• Participate in Escape Room – a live-action, team-based game where players find hidden clues and solve health puzzles
• Tour the health and medical facilities
• Find out what it’s like studying at Flinders
• Speak with current medical and paramedicine students
• Get your questions answered by lecturers, academics and current students
• Afternoon tea will be provided

Program
3:00pm – 3:30pm: Registration, welcome and briefing
3:30pm – 5:30pm: Hands-on activities in small groups
5:30pm – 6:30pm: Presentation and Q&A session – parents and school advisors invited as well.
