Each year hundreds of garments are thrown into landfill. A new fashion trend is emerging all over the world – upcycling.
On your own or in a team, redesign a deadstock garment, using zero or minimum waste design principles. Starting with a deadstock garment you have supplied (or from garments provided), re-use, re-make and re-purpose the garment into a new garment.
If you can, please bring in old, collared men’s or women’s shirt/s ready for upcycling. Shirts can be supplied if needed, and all additional fabrics and accessories will be supplied.
After the workshop, enjoy a Q&A with our talented teaching staff, and discover how your passion for design could turn into an exciting career in a trillion-dollar industry.
This session is for Year 12 prospective students interested in applying for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Fashion) or Bachelor of Creative Arts (Costume Design).
