Event Details
Awareness and knowledge of the local environment significantly underpin a real sense of belonging. Presented by A/Prof Jochen Kaempf, this workshop will provide an overview of the oceanography along Australia’s southern shelves and how physical processes shape the unique marine environment of the region.
This workshop features the Great Southern Australian Coastal Upwelling System and how this attracts marine predators to the region, and the sheltered nature of South Australian gulfs and how these enable the aggregation of the Giant Australian Cuttlefish in the upper Spencer Gulf.
The aim of this workshop is to discuss ways of how this key environmental knowledge can be showcased in the classroom. No prior knowledge is required or assumed.
