Presented by Professor Victoria Haskins from the University of Newcastle, this talk is titled: “The Domestic Diaspora: Domestic service and colonial mobility”.

This lecture will be held in memoriam of Emeritus Professor Eric Richards, who held a Professorial Chair in History at Flinders University since the early 1970s until his retirement. Professor Richards was an eminent historian of British and Australian migration history, who greatly impacted the community at Flinders and South Australia more broadly.

Professor Haskins was a lecturer at Flinders from 2000 to 2006, when she took up a lectureship at the University of Newcastle, becoming a Professor in 2014. She is a social and cultural historian of Australia, indigenous history, domestic labour and migration.
