Event Details

The Caring Futures Institute, Flinders University are pleased to invite you to the public lecture “Digital Health – Enabling Health Smart Living” with Professor Anthony Maeder

Digital health is often seen as mere computerisation of information used by the health system, but it has far greater potential than this view suggests. Indeed our increasingly digital world raises society expectations that individuals will become increasingly more empowered in all aspects of life, including health.
In this lecture, Professor Anthony Maeder will discuss some of the dimensions that are being explored in the Flinders Digital Health Research Centre around its theme of “Digital Health – Enabling Health Smart Living”. He will exemplify the Centre’s emphasis on customising and personalising health information and processes to provide benefits to the management of health in numerous social and clinical settings, including everyday living situations such as the home and workplace. Professor Maeder will be also be sharing some examples from the Centre’s projects which are generally applied in nature, and cover a wide range of areas in health informatics.

HOST: Professor Alison Kitson, Vice-President & Executive Dean, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Flinders University.

When: 5pm Thursday 17 October 2019 (drinks and nibbles; lecture begins at 5:30pm).

Where: Lecture Theatre 2, Ground Floor, Flinders at Tonsley, 1284 South Road, Adelaide.

The Caring Futures Institute

This is the fifth lecture in the Caring Futures Institute public lecture series. The Caring Futures Institute is exploring how we can apply better care and health outcomes across the lifespan and how we can develop self-care and caring solutions to improve people’s quality of life and boost social and economic prosperity. We are working with leading care organisations, industry, health professionals, partners and communities to pioneer outcome-driven research that makes a positive impact on people’s lives.
