Flinders Drama Centre
Although Flinders has taught drama as a separate discipline since the school of Humanities was first established in 1967, the professional acting and directing programs at the Flinders Drama Centre were introduced in 1975. The combination of a strong grounding in performance theory, together with a high level of technical skill, has produced what we call ‘the intelligent alternative’ in professional training. Drama Centre graduates have made and continue to make a significant contribution to the entertainment industry both nationally and internationally.

Flinders Drama Centre 50th anniversary production
Art and Mr. Ui are celebrity figures in the city’s organised crime and night-life, but in a media environment hungry for the next big thing, their infamy is flagging.
Meanwhile, Dogsborough MP is getting a little too cosy with the grocery industry. Government assistance appears to be lining the pockets of Dogsborough and a select few shareholders.
Art and Mr. Ui seize on the opportunity to insinuate themselves into Dogsborough’s political institutions, bringing their criminal gang and their brutal tactics along with them.
Soon, they have the whole city at their feet. When they’re done there, the whole world awaits.
Brecht’s dark and hilarious parable on the rise of fascism in the 1930s has been reimagined by the students of the Flinders Drama Centre to respond to the current ominous moment in world politics.
