Social and Policy Studies Lecture Series | Semester 1, 2017

School of Social and Policy Studies Research Seminar Series | Semester 1, 2017

The School of Social and Policy Studies Research Seminar Series provides academics at Flinders and visiting academics from disciplines as diverse as politics, social work, public policy, cultural studies and sociology with the opportunity to present early findings from their research ‘hot off the press’.

The seminar series this semester will cover a wide range of topics relating to the environment, the welfare state sexuality, party politics, volunteering and emotions.

Included in this semester’s seminar series are two international speakers:

  • Sonja Ellis from Sheffield Hallam University in the UK (talking about Transphobic victimisation),

and

  • David Stoesz, Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Public Policy (talking about the welfare state in transition).

Seminars are free and open to all. They are usually held from 12.00 to 1.00pm in Room 115 Social Science South.

The series kicks off on 24 March.
