Flinders Accredited Trainer Workshop | October 2017
The Flinders Accredited Trainer two-day workshop is for participants who have completed training and achieved a certificate of Competence in the Flinders Chronic Condition Management Program (Flinders Program) and intend to train others in this program.
Training in the Flinders Program offers the opportunity to develop capabilities for supporting and prevention of chronic condition management including self-management.
The Flinders Accredited Trainer Program assumes participants have knowledge of learning development and training skills, as well as chronic condition management principles and the Flinders Program.
Flinders Accredited Trainer Program Aims:
Provide an overview of the background, aims and learning outcomes of the Flinders Program to assist participants to consolidate previous learning.
Review the principles of adult learning.
Present options for complementary learning activities to accommodate differences in learning needs and styles and/or specific work place requirements.
Provide a safe learning environment to practise presentation skills, give and receive feedback and promote participants’ confidence in presentation skills.
Maintain the quality of the Flinders Program training by participants understanding of the FHBHRU research and quality assurance requirements and the Accredited Trainer license requirements for training and evaluation.
Pre-requisite for attending the Accredited Trainer Workshop:
Certificate of Competence in Flinders Program
Evidence of adult education credentials (e.g. a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification/experience).
