Building & Embedding Literacy Development in your Topics

Writing across the Curriculum and Inside the Disciplines, a Flinders University Community of Practice, presents:

Building & Embedding Literacy Development in your Topics

Monday, 23 April, Health Sciences Bldg. Room 108, 12-1:30pm

This mini-workshop is designed to help you embed literacy-enhancing strategies into the topics that you teach. Using the ‘What, So what, What now?’ approach, we will examine how this has been done successfully in a Flinders University topic in Disability Studies. We will explore the background, context, content and outcomes for learning. The session will culminate with an opportunity to consider and discuss how you might incorporate these practices in your own teaching design and delivery.

Dr. Cheryl Schelbach, Learning Designer, College of Education, Psychology & Social Work will present this workshop. Across her diverse career in higher education, Cheryl has taught in Public Health and Physiology, developed online learning courses, and formerly was Learning Designer for Nursing and Health Science.

Given the midday hour of this session, please feel free to bring your lunch.
