3 Minute Thesis - Heats (2018)


The Three Minute Thesis (3MT ®) competition celebrates the exciting research conducted by Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) students. Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), 3MT cultivates students’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills.

The competition supports students' capacity to effectively explain their research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

You will be competing with your peers from across the university disciplines.

You will be entered into one of two first-round heats:

Heat 1: Tuesday 10 July at 11:00am

Heat 2: Wednesday 11 July at 10:00am

Winner of each heat receives $100, second place receives $50. The top eight competitors in each heat go through to the Semi-Final.

Registration automatically assigns you 10 July. This is NOT your confirmed heat.
